Christmas Preparations

Time to get busy with Christmas gifts and preparations. What's the exciting or stressful part for you?

Little late to get busy with preps for Christmas... the time to get busy with it was right after Thanksgiving....
Don't do anything special for it now.... don't stress over it anymore either... cards and some cash for the ones I give to... some meat for some others from the current butchered animal....
No grandkids to get excited over it, parents and grand parents gone and rest of the family scattered....
Would rather do for some people during the year...
Church service either Christmas eve or Christmas day... say my thanks in private, usually meal at someone's house...
Feeding and normal chores...

My wife does the bulk of the Christmas shopping. I just get a stocking stuffer for the adults. It's usually a gift card. This year I think they'll be from a new barbecue restaurant in Navasota.

Then I cook breakfast for everyone Christmas morning.

Nothing unusual here the wife cooks a big Christmas dinner and all the kids and grandkids come over open presents and eat Christmas dinner

Zero stress and preparations or excitement. Mailed off cards which included some cash to a bunch of ungrateful snot nosed grandkids some who I haven't seen in 5 or 6 years. The wife put up one string of Christmas lights on the garage that the 20 cars a day can see from 200 yards away when they drive by. She made cookies and caramel corn which she shipped off to her family.

Christmas is kind of quiet here, just my wife and I. My immediate family have all passed, and my wife’s family are all in other states.
We went Wednesday evening to the Christmas hymn sing at our church.
We don’t have children of our own, so a couple days ago while at the grocery store, wife picked out some fancy bagged Christmas chocolate candy for our high school age Sunday school class, which she’ll give them to them on Sunday.
Haven’t really discussed what we’ll have for Christmas dinner yet, usually we get part of ham, and have sides like mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, baked beans.
Growing up, my mother and grandmothers would all collaborate and fix a big spread. After my grandmothers on each side passed the relatives kind of just went their own ways and did their own things,
This year with the prospect of it might be last Christmas here in KY, we debated about even decorating in case we had a property showing, but then decided to put up the Christmas tree and set out the nativity scene and sone other decorations that could be taken down and easy.

Sent a few Christmas cards and a late shipped package yesterday...maybe they'll get to destinations before The Big Day. Outdoor lights were up a day or 3 after Thanksgiving. Tree was slid out of my office Dec 1 and into it's appointed place in the living room, the plastic sheeting cut off it and lights plugged in, .......all worked!!. 20 minutes and a fully decorated tree emerged, exactly as it appeared last Jan 3rd, when we covered it up.

Stress? Bedlam reigns here & That's all I got to say about that..

Oh, I have to make 3 Tee shirts today. One for M-I-L, and 1 each for my wife and her sister.
