Q: Can cattle choke?

Yup, hedge apples can cause it, so can apples if swallowed whole

I had a young calf choke on a cube it picked up when we were feeding the cows. He ended up passing out.

I was just wondering because I once seen a steer get into a coughing fit; he must've had a piece of hay go down the wrong pipe.
