It is that time of year again. The chokecherries are ripening fast, and I have started the first batch of jelly. Last year we didn't have any berries, and the year before I was too busy to make it so we are looking forward to having it again. Hopefully most of it will set, and I don't get too much syrup ;-) . I have more chokecherry bushes in the yard than I can possibly use, and even the birds don't seem to be able to eat them all. They make great windbreak bushes though....
 
Whats a choke cherry I have never heard of them before. Are they known by any other name? Do you have a pic of them?
