My Jersey calves have been chewing the rims of their buckets....almost clear through/all the way off. They have mineral blocks available. Do they need something to "teethe" on???

These are/were bottle-fed babies - with individual hutches. They are in the pasture full-time now.

Probably just bored or carrying over bad habits they developed when on the bottle

Better to chew buckets than flatten electrical wires on your trailers - tractors or anything else parked in the pasture.

I had a bucket fed calf earlier in the year chewed the electrical wires into on a 25 gal. spray tank on my 4- wheeler. I think sometimes thet get so bored and curious that they will chew on anything.
