Got him yesterday morning about 930. Weather was cool and drizzly here in Kansas. First time I had been hunting all fall. Rather be lucky than good I guess.
He has a very interesting rack. The right side had a main beam with 5 points, and then 8 points around his base. The left side is just really weird. He has 3 main points protuding from the base, and then 6 other points around that base. He also has a sticker off of one of his other points, for a total of 23 points over an inch long. He has two others less than an inch, so if I wanted to stetch a little I could say he was a 25 pointer. ;-) Field dressed right at 200 pounds. 30 yard double lung quartering away shot from the Matthews Outback, clean pass through and he went about 100 yards before piling up.
I didn't get any really good pictures, camera was messing up and wasn't working right, so I didn't get any pictures until he was caped out. Pictures don't really portray the weirdness in my opinion, but I sure was happy. I tried to count the points from the pictures, but couldn't come up with them all. Son has been telling me we need to shoot more big bucks to hang on the wall. (God bless him) This one isn't overly big, just overly weird, so up he goes!
Proud dad and son.
