I am interested to know colour I can expect my calves to be from F1 Char/BAngus heifers breed back to a Black Angus bull. The heifers themselves are grey or silver.
And does it make a difference if the original cross (the parents of the heifers) was a char bull on BA cows or BA bull on char cows?

Calves should be smokes to solid black. It doesn't matter which way you make the f1, the color will be the same regardless. This is true as with any f1.

That was my thought but sometimes these silly little ideas get in your head and the question just has to be asked.

Thanks :tiphat:
