My "Charlie" is named Fat Boy. Came as a stray when much close-by farm ground was being torn up, new subdivisions being built, new people moving in, and -- I suppose -- he somehow got lost in someone's shuffle. We fed him outside as a farm cat; but he'd come to the door and want in . . . . so, one day, I let him in. And it went from there. He was already neutered, probably about age 3 at the time. People would shoot stray cats in our then-neighborhood. So, once he decided he was staying (wasn't much for me to say about it), he got all his shots, micro-chipped, and save for a few escapes, he's been a house cat ever since. He's never torn up furniture or drapes or carpets or sprayed. He can teach manners to an unfriendly dog visitor very quickly! He delivers a dead mouse to my side of the bed once in awhile, but although I curse him if I step on one in the middle of the night, I can't really hold that against him! He's about 8 now.
