sad part is ,he was southern rock when I was a kid ..and still more country then .than today's bunch..seen him and marshall tucker together back in the 70s ..

Radio station I listen to actually plays quite a bit of Charlie Daniel's and Hank William's Jr. They both have some good songs that dont get much attention any more.Trudy is one of my favorites

Not sure how old I was, but I was young. Maybe like 10-11. I live just north of Nashville. I think the twin pines is in Lebanon though. He got to where it wasn't hard to run in to him at a ropin (wasn't many around back then in this area). Just started talking with him here and there. He didn't shun the adults, but seemed to heart for kids more than adults. I had a keep sake or two he gave me, but lost them to a tornado.
