Does anyone else put caulk on the overlap ridge on Galvanized tin roofs before nailing it down ? I do and people said im strange.

good point... I always use the caulk and seems to be working well so I will continue... But what you said makes alot of sense.

Goodness folks, they make a product called seam tape that goes on the overlap joint. Very easy to apply, no caulking gun required, supplied in a convenient roll, cheap, etc. Go to your local tin supplier and ask for "seam tape" and while you're there, pick up some seam screws. They are fatter and won't strip out (unless you're using an impact wrench).
