Watched a sale on internet today a few of my neighbours sold cattle prices were terrific the yearling steers sold off farm with 4% shrink 950lb steers $ 2.14 lb heifers 10c back some had younger calves 500lb steers $3.00 in all guys could reject price if they didn't like it but everyone I know let them go! Internet sales are getting more popular here the company rep comes out to farm and video the animals and gives a weight and they are sold on a slide of say 5 cents ( 5c higher for less weight 5c lower for more weight) the rep has you on phone when yours sell and you have the last say if you want to sell at final price no charges if you keep them if you sell the rep takes sale barn commission and he arranges for the trucks and time of loading cattle are all weighed on the truck at a approved scale.
