I was wondering if anyone uses Cattle Mater Gold Vaccine? If you do, do you use it on pregnant cows? I am choosing not to administer it to my pregnant cattle (even though the bottle says you can). I was just curious.

We have used it for several years with good success. It is a ML vaccine so your animals need to be done the first time when open. After that they say it's ok for bred cows.
We always do pre breeding so they are open. We usually have a few stragglers so what we do is do them separately after they calve. This year however with input costs going up, we did open and the few late calvers at the same time. They faired fine. No problems.

I think you are confusing Cattlemaster with Bovishield.

Bovishield is a MLV that needs to be given as you described, Cattlemaster is a killed vaccine that is safe to be given to in calf cows without needing prior vaccination when open. (there are a few technicalities that would support your argument, but for general discussion and use its not really applicable)

I use cattle master gold every year on bred cows. I'm switching to Bovishield. For that I will have to administer once when open. Actually, I'm moving my vaccination program to open cows anyway to help prevent disease related abortion.
