Cattle cough

I have a 7yr old cow that coughs........it is a VERY deep cough......she coughs 3 times then quits......she coughs ALOT during the spring/summer months......but she does cough all year round, does anyone know what she has.....maybe allergies? ? ? Thought i'd add a pic just for good measure.....

I don't know what she has, but it sounds like an ongoing problem . I think I would put her in the next sale .

Allergys, dust, old lung damage, the list of possible causes is nearly endless. If that's the only thing she does and continues to eat, raises a good calf, etc., just put her on the "keep an eye on" list

I might catch a lot of flack for this recommendation but here goes; a good shot of LA-200 might be in order.

Doesn't sound terminal so I wouldn't do anything.

Has a vet ever looked at her since the cough started 2 years ago? Has she gotten worse? She looks healthy enough. Is she raising a calf? Does she breed back every year?

No we have not called the vet out......she has been coughing the SAME EXACT way for the past 2 yrs......She is raising a heifer calf.........she has been breeding back every year.........everything about her is normal, she just coughs all the time

After 4 years, either she got better, or he got rid of her. LOL

One time my vet told me that if you have somthing that was perfectly fine and healthy then that is what la200 was for. what was funny was that about the next three things i had wrong he told me to give them some la200 .

Cows I have all cough from time to time. I think it is normal. They seem to choke on water and the saliva that they belch up with their cud. When I feed them feed, they will be in such a hurry to out compete the others cows getting it in that I think they aspirate a little, then they cough but not until they have got it all down. They are much like people. :roll:
