Cast Netting Shrimp

Ok- I believe you can catch shrimp with a cast net off of a dock in the marsh, but 3-5 lbs. of Jumbo shrimp per throw?
Come on now- I think he may be exagerrating.

I've heard of people using fish meal to attract them for cast netting.

I've caught jumbo shrimp in my cast net before, but it was only 1 or 2 shrimp per throw. I've never caught 3-5 lbs per cast, but thats my experience.

Grits works good. I don't know if its illegal or not. You can put it in a gunny sac with a brick and toss it in the water where you plan to net. After a few hours it will keep them in the area. Of course, this also works well with fishing since it brings in the little bait fish and shrimp that the other fish feed on.
