hi im an australian cattle farm that is currently looking at bying a case 4210 4X4 tractor with a factory fitted cab and loader.

I was wondering if any one out there had any info on these tractors. I am trying to work any weakness these tractors may have and what i need to check before bying and after

Thanks Elmo

I kept thinking that someone might answer. So I guess it is up to me. I have a 4230 that has given me a lot of problems. It was in the shop last year. $4500 I have used it about 5 hours since the work. It is now in the shop and has been there for 6 weeks. Case-IH does not furnish parts as well as they should. I had to use a used part last year because Case-IH had discontinued the part. Also the cab top is not availabe any more and I need one. The fiberglass the cab was made with is very poor quality. The radiator has steel tops and botttoms and they rust out. I have replaced the radiator. Now keep in mind that this tractor is not very old and had only a little over 500 hours when everything started to go to pieces. When this tractor comes out of the shop it is going to auction and I will let the problems be someone elses problems.

Thanks for that you have given me lots to think about. At the moment in australia it is a toss up between buying an old well known brand with 4000 hrs on the clock or taking a chance with a new less know brand.
