We had been wishing for some warmer weather.
Boy did we get it. A chinook hit and 2 of our corral gates at locked in ice with the melted snow running over them. No way to get them open. Hubby says it looks like a glacier.
Just glad that we have not started calving.
I went to get the barn stripped and ready. Out of 5 pens 3 are soaking wet from the water. 1 has standing water in it. no way to drain it.
To get in the north door I had to use a pick axe to get enough ice out of the way.
Suppose to stay warm til possibly Thursday. Hope to get the barn dried out by then.

Was suppose to get my milk cow down there today, but looks like either tomorrow or later this week. She is due to calve shortly.
 
The culverts are running full and there are some areas without culverts that have water going over the roads.
Will have to get some pictures tomorrow.
 
Wow, we had the wind, and the temps were warm, but not quite warm enough to have the water running yet. Once it lets go we will have a lot of flooding here too. Supposed to stay warm for a couple more days here and then drop down to -15 C again. Yippee, ice.....

Peg if we hit 70f here now we would be under a flash flood warning. :shock:
I prefer slow melts to fast melts.
 
We had close to 2 feet of snow on the ground. Then we got these warm temps, and now there's probably only 2-3 inches left (except for the drifts). It hasn't been fun walking around in puddles with ice on the bottoms of them. Makes for a slick trek.
 
I'm loving htis warmer weayher-snow is all gone, and I hope to not see it until next winter- :banana: :banana:
