ATF shelves bullet ban proposal

The Obama administration is backing off its plan to ban a type of armor-piercing ammunition following a deluge of criticism from gun rights groups and congressional Republicans.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said Tuesday it will not ban bullets commonly used in AR-15 hunting rifles “at this time,” after receiving more than 80,000 comments on the proposal.

Kenny, I hope all the opportunist that bought all ammo they could, to turn around and gouge people get stuck. Nothing I hate more than a price gouger. It's still happening on 22 ammo.
 
Well they didn't get me.
The last box I bought was Remington Hog Hammer.
That is good stuff for removing problems, the way it drops a hog
I wouldn't hesitate to use it on deer at 100 yards or closer.
Stuff really shoots good out of my Mini.

I totally agree. The 22 mag seems to be one that is as bad as the 22. But people keep buying the 22 at $7-$8 a box and thinking nothing about it. Highest I have bought was $5 and sold it all for $5 so people here could have some to shoot.
 
22 Mag was my all time favorite varmint round till the price went through the roof.
I have a Henry that has taken abuse no firearm should take and is still deadly accurate.
That Henry has dispatched more than any firearm on the place as it always on the Mule rack.
I ordered a Ruger American Ranch rifle in 5.56/223 today.

I didn't go out and load up I already have enough ammo to last me and my kids and probably my grand kids. but I don't go to Walmart very many times that I don't buy a box or two of ammo, I have for years and will keep doing it. I date it and store it in ammo cans with the moister drier packs. Only ammo I would like to have more of is . 22 shorts , I got plenty of longs, but like the shorts for trapping in town where I don't want people to hear me shoot.
