A thread of pictures with cows and heifers at different stages of pregnancy, udders also.
Just an idea to help us newbies along. We dont always know when they have been bred, but I also understand that each animal is different. I have been searching all afternoon for pics at various stages with little luck

Since each pregnancy and cow/heifer is different there's no way to tell from pictures. I've had them big as a house at 3 months and others that don;t look bred until the calf pops out. Some bag well before calving some not until right at calving.

Yep, poor indicator. Plus it takes way to much time to wait for that tell to tell you she ain't bred.

I figured as much. The hiefer I picked up is from a vet. When I first inquired about her, he said she was 4 months bred. When I picked her up he said his figuring could be off, I made the comment she looked more like 6-7 months bred. He didnt argue it.
So, being the impatient SOB that I am, and being new at the bred cow thing, Im looking all the time for different clues as to when I need to be ready. Frustrating to say the least. Like I said, Im not a patient person.

Are you sure you're not talking about my cows?

I have one who never, and I mean never 'looks' pregnant then she'll bag-up overnight and out plops a calf. I have a couple others that don't make a bag until a few hours prior to calving or pretty much at calving. Then there are those that look like they are carrying triplets by the 4th month.
