I will be picking up a new milk cow next Sunday. I can hardly wait.
She is a pure bred Jersey bred to a Jersey bull. Hoping she has a heifer calf.

Is the market on bull calves bad by you? I sold some holstein bull calves the other weekend at the local salebarn and did real well almost $1 a lb for each size.

You have better luck selling a heifer then a bull calf out here. Lots of people were wanting milk and nurse cows for awhile there.

For Jerseys it is. I don't own Jerseys but a neighbor dairy does and they use only sexed semen on the Jerseys they have because bull calves are highly undesirable and worth nothing.

Down this way a 3-4 day old jersey or a holstein bull calf is basically worthless. I've seen them bring as much as $15 for someone looking for a calf and not knowing what it was worth to basically giving them away to anyone that would take them.

Got her home.

She has the same color that "Chocolate" was, a bit bigger though.
Have her locked up in the corral right now.
She was tested twice and negative for TB. Bangs vaccinated.
5 1/2 months bred.

Will get some pictures tomorrow if it is not pouring rain, like is forecasted.
Got home and found several problems with my computor and just got it all fixed.
