Zima is SO not a baby anymore, and she gets seriously jealous of me paying attention to other calves

Dusty finally had a baby today, 100 lb bull calf, backwards and a leg kinda wrong, took a bit of a pull to get him started then he came out OK
up and nursing in an hour, Momma is a sweetie
Momma's sister has to check out the new sibling
Meanwhile Zima has grown, Zecca is one of Dusty's other sister
And the last sister, the freemartin.. too bad she didn't breed, but I have a market for the meat so it was worth the chance... She used to be ALL dark red, then last spring her hooves went white and she's grown more and more roan
Just for comparison, this was her color as a calf

Baby is doing good this morning, all cleaned up and enjoying the sun
Sure changed a lot for sure... Should be good eats after some good grass.

Remember the cow I gave to a friend years ago? Roma? I got rid of her because she wasn't productive enough.. She just had her THIRD set of twins for him, unfortunately the first one was born backward and didn't make it

Well, Yesterday afternoon the heifer that had the Oops baby last year had her 2nd one... I think she either had an affair with a whitetail buck, or there's a doe missing her fawn somewhere.. Seems good and healthy, did it all herself, found it clean and fed
Can you spot the baby? It was hiding just like a fawn would

Zima is sure growed up, she's massive, and sassy and BOSSY.. she's the biggest of the bunch by a long shot and she takes full advantage of that.. Weaning her in a month or so (she's 6 months old today)
