Congratulations! Nice save with the "two calves heifer." How did you know or what did you see that made you think something was wrong?Another pair this morning from a first calf heifer or should I say a first two calves heifer! Second was backward so we had to pull her.
The heifer had the first by herself but he was very small so we go look in her and found backward legs so we didn't took a chance and pull him out asap. With twins you never know when the umbilical cord is broken.Congratulations! Nice save with the "two calves heifer." How did you know or what did you see that made you think something was wrong?
We didn't graft one this year we will cull the 2 cows.Do you graft one of the twins over on a cow that had a dead calf? One good thing about having them in to calve like that; they are right there to work with...
Are you getting any of the snow that has headed up the east coast the last day or so? We got about 1 1/2 inches of rain out of it but it was supposed to drop a decent snow amount north of here... didn't know if it went that far inland to you or stayed more on the coast.
We had 8 pairs alive and 1 pair dead some years ago with 130 calving cows. I'm expecting 2 more pairs this year with the belly we see on the 33 calving cows who remains.Beautiful cattle. Love seeing your cattle. Boy, you have been spitting them out - well ---- your cows have been spitting them out!!! Is this a high number of twins for you - or normal?
