calves dying

I'm new to these boards, but have a problem. I've lost 3 calves in the last month. They are born fine, up and walking. Then about the 3rd or fourth day I will find them lethargic and barely able to stand. No signs of scours. Then in about a week, they die. First calf lived about 10 days and died. Gave him scour tablets, thought it may be scours, but not obvious. Second calf was up and running around, then three or four days later I found him lying down, didn't think much about it but the next day was laying in the same place and I knew something wasn't right. Calf was lifeless. Died the next day. Third calf was born in cold and snow but was up and moving around. Again no concern. Four days later I found him laying down all day. Went over to see about him and he could barely stand, lifeless. Gave him electrolytes and a shot. Next day some better even standing on his own. I gave him milk replacer. Next morning he was up and I hoped for the best, That afternoon was dead. He lived 1 week. Been told possibly E coli. Never had this happen before. My farm is in Middle TN. Incidentially, 2 calves were on 1 farm and 1 was on another by two different bulls. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Rafter is right. Call a cattle vet! Sounds like you need some pathology done. Were your cows all vaccinated either prior to breeding or just before calving?
Almost sounds like these calves may not have good immunity for some reason. Either from not getting it maternally or through the colostrum.

Another one hit wonder!
seems to happen a lot
I have to confess.......I am a "one hit wonder" over on the chicken board. I only drop in when I have a problem that I can not solve or need a drug recommendation. However I do try to go back and atleast share the outcome. But most of the time it is in vain, no one responds to my question anyway. I guess that's why I like it here so well, always a response good or bad. :D
