Out in the dessert, we would a jackrabbit call to lure in the coyotes. The yotes could hear it from over a mile away.
Here in Northwest Montana, there doesn't seem to be much of a rabbit population at all...
We know that the yotes are around here. They wander by at night and occasionally during daylight hours chasing mice.. But the jackrabbit call does nothing up here.... And it's hard to get any ranger out of a squeeker... Anyone use something different???

We have a lot of rabbits and the rabbit calls don;t work as well as the jck calls did in the desert. The canine distress call or fox distress call seems to work the best around here.

There are all kinds of calls out there on CD. Distressed fawn calls seem to be the best for coyotes. We call them up and look them over. We called some to a downed boar a while back. We are kind of hoping they start hunting pigs.

You can use a bird or duck call by changing the sound
and tempo or rhythm. I use the fawn bleat during Mar.
and Apr. Same is true for using a Turkey call during
nesting season.
