calf with hurt foot

I have a 5 week old heifer calf with a front hoof that was stepped on 1-04-13 . I have given the second dose of compen . I have the calf in the barn with mom . The hoof is still bleeding and she doesn't want to put weight on the hoof. How would I keep this hoof clean . Fresh bedding in barn . Anything else I should do ? thanks rj
