Calf with a sprained ankle

I bought a red Brahman cow calf pair and sometime during the 4 hour drive back to the ranch the calf sprained her ankle. It is swollen a little.
I think she got it caught on something in the trailer. Calf never laid downing the trailer so I don't think mom stepped on it.
I may be hard. to load the calf so I will get some anti inflammatory medicine from the vet.

That's my bet. Of course, the other option is it won't. But I'd stick with "yes" for a while and see what happens.

What they said. A round of inflammatories. Then the waiting game. We had one with a sprained ankle earlier in the spring. It limped around for about 2 weeks. Now you couldn't even tell.

Well I took her to the vet and they x-rayed and it was broken pretty bad. I will get a pic of the xrays later.
The vet said it could be fixed but no promises. So i took vet to a vet in Winnsborro who does alot of work on horses with broken legs and such and they operated on her yesterday. No news is good news so I will check on her Monday.

I paid alot for her and decided to save her if possible.
