calf seems to be bloated

I have a young heifer about 250 lb. She seems to be real tight on both sides, she walks stiff legged, eats hay, manure is in small pieces sometimes clumped togather. Calf has been like this 3 weeks she does not go with mom stays in pen does suckle daily. Vet thinks she has an obstruction wants to operate.
Calf has had mineral oil 3 times didn't help.

I will second that - twisted or blocked - likely be dead in a while if you do not.

Or could have consumed some baling twine..... will ball up in the stomach and plug them up eventually killing them.

That's one of the 2 most common causes. The other is plastic walmart bags.

The fact that the calf is still alive makes me think it is more of an internal problem ,such as a birth defect.

This calf needs medical attention ASAP regardless, if you wait you will have a dead calf.

Monetary reasons ???,vet cost, surgery,how much is the calf worth to you ?????? You have to make that decision yourself.

Here I am again we operated on calf looked in intestines found what looked like grass in a horseshoe shape. We opened that part and cleaned her out but saw no other blockage. We didn't go in the stomach.
She made it through the operation, still eating seems, alert, gets up and down ok , not much manure.
The operation was Sat. We will try more oil tomorrow. I think there might be something in her stomach,
still bloated facing her head on the right side.
