calf scale

Ok so I'm done using a bathroom scale to weigh calves. It's a real pain and the scale doesn't always work. So I'm just throwing in the towel, it's not worth it.

I'm looking for suggestions on the best one-man portable newborn calf scale I can buy without breaking the bank. Largest calf I've ever had was 95#, so anything that can handle < 100# will do.

Here is a calf scale that is accurate and inexpensive. ( http://www.jefferspet.com/products/digi ... -sling-kit ) It takes two people but I also have been looking for something better. This is utterly impossible with a protective mother.

I tried a digital similar to that.. And went back to a bathroom scale. I have a thick piece of plywood I lay down and then set the scale on.

The hanging digitals are fussy when the calf is squirming all around - I was never totally confident in it.

Have you looked into scales that sport fishermen use they are spring loaded and have a hook that you could attach some kind of sling I have/had one that went to 100# less then $50.00.
