calf protien/clostrom paste?

Has anyone used any of the calf protein probiotic pastes out there?

Some claim to help with scours, others don't. They seem kind of pricey but maybe some of you have found its worth the price.
Are they a priced high convenience for colostrum replacement or just a gimmick?

Every calf gets a First Defense bolus. I started out with just the calves from the heifers & noticed the only calves we had to treat for scours were from the cows - that didn't get the bolus. They're pricey but worth it in my opinion.

We started using the First Defence bolus just last month. EVERY calf that has gotten one HAS NOT scoured. We have a problem with scours 7 to 14 days after birth, up to 30 days. We use Scour Guard, but still struggle with the scours.
At $7/bolus, it is well worth it!

Ideally the bolus is administered within the 1st 12 hours but I've given them after the recommended/critical time frame and still no scours.
