I took four calves to the auction got 2350.00, expected to get about 2850.00 --since grain went up .calf p[rices are plunging---big time These were good lookin calves too.

in your case you should always put the words "rejects" and "culls" in quotation marks.

carlos shipped three 1050 pound amazing heifers that should have been cows for 1.07 last week .

We shipped our calves last Tuesday, I don't have all of the prices (the sheet is kept at my mothers) - just for the two groups that I sold my calves in. These calves were weaned right off their mothers the day before the sale, no finishing. They all had the Angus tags on them, were age verified and had spring shots and fall boosters. We do not sell on just a regular calf sale day. A bunch of us in the area get together and sell in this select sale. It has been going for over 10 years and is well known to the buyers. There were about 1,300 calves sold in the sale this year.

RBF STR- 752 pounds - 104
TAN HFR- 681 pounds - 98

I was disappointed in the heifer prices. A Tan heifer last year weighing 667 pounds went for 116. Same build as the one this year (full sisters). We sold one group of red heifers for replacements but we sure didn't get the prices that we did last year for them. They weighed about 650 and went for about 105 this year if I remember correctly. Last year a group of heifers that went for replacements weighed 662 and brought 123.25.
They looked good going in though. We had two with frozen ears that got docked a bit but other than that they were a group to be proud of.
