Thanks. The calves are going to get better. This fall all but one of my calves will be AI. Casper is the sire of most of these calves since my AI program was not in full gear. I like the Top Hand calf, too. I have not banded his scrotum. I am going to experiment to see if anyone might buy him as a bull.

BTW: FSR sent me private communication. That calf with the dip behind the shoulders is just standing that way.

In the group picture, one of the calves is not in the group. She was over the hill nursing.

I spend as much time playing with my cattle as I do working. I am now getting enough calves that I am starting to see social behavior that I did not see in the last few years. For example, I have noticed that a couple of cows would baby sit the calves and still do. But now most of the calves are a few weeks old and the cows will go off and leave them. The mothers of the two calves that are only a couple of weeks old still stay very close to the calves. Star, had her calf at the end of March and even though it is a month old, she is still being protective. She was the only one that never left her calf after it was turned out. She always kept it close. It is her first calf so I guess she was nervous. Star is the heifer in the picture nursing her calf, Zenias. TT suggested that the white strip looks like a lightening bolt. BTW: Where is TT?

Show's what a difference angle and how they are standing makes them look. Really nice calf. They all look good.
