I checked with three brands of commercial creep pellets.
Prices were from 180 to 220 per ton protein 14-15% plus delivery.
This is what I did. A custom mix. $158. per ton delivered min 6 ton.
10,000 pounds cracked corn.
4,000 pounds corn gluten pellets.
200 mineral
25 ADE vitamins
400 pounds 40% pellets.
$1163. total
The calves will have free choice good hay and 30% lick tubs.
Would I have been better off with the commercial creep?
