Here's the story. The calfs momma died around month or so ago she was bit by a snake. It's a black angus heifer calf. It is blind one eye from pinkeye and the other from ??? Believed to have stuck something in it. The eye that had pinkeye is now sticking out of the socket. Not just swollen I mean really popped out there. It drains pretty constant. All I know is that the calf at some time had been given a shot of la300 but don't no when. I know the calf is blind and always will be but for the eye stickig out I feel like something needs to be done but it don't seem to be in pain. Young calf around 225-250 lbs. I just got it tonight I have it in a stall to itselfs the man didn't want to fool wit it and he actually gave me the calf. Very nice healthy calf just got that rough eye. I have it in a stall to itself. I have searched and searched and can't find nothing on it. Im just aiming to raise the ol gal for the freezer but do I just let the eye go and do its own thing or what needs to be done? I aim to call the vet and ask him also. BTW first time poster long time reader.

The eye really needs to be removed. I have seen them left and the globe usually retracts a bit into the socket and shrivels up a bit as things try to heal. If you are getting it ready for the freezer she will probably do better with it out and healed up and less chronic pain so extra lbs of beef might pay for the Vet.
