Chuckie-I have no idea how old the Red/Wh cow is. I bought her in 1996 with a calf beside her. That makes her at least 12 years old. Her teeth are showing some wear but all there. She raises one of the best calves on the place every year and looks as good as any 4 year old I own.
Beefy-The skunk had her first calf in October. We didn't breed her until she was two years old. The bwf we bred to calve at two. Should calve in about two weeks.
The skunk tails take a discount from 3 to 10 cents here, depending on who is there and how many they need to fill a load. I sell all my calves at graded feeder sales and if they don't have too much white on them, they go in the straight angus pen. The skunk cow had a bull calf this year, from a purebred angus, as was her daddy, and it has the same markings as her. That's 75% angus with the stripe.
