with buying a single embryo.you pay to have it implant in the recipe.an you buy the recipe cow.or if your buying a flush.you get all the #1 embryos in that flush.an you pay for implanting an the receip cow.
A confirmed pregnancy should always include the recipient cow carrying the calf. Listed are a few questions you need to have answered prior to bidding.
Is the recipient cow a registered cow?
Is this a guaranteed live calf?
Is the sex of the calf guaranteed?
If the sex is female will she be guaranteed a potential breeder?
Assume you are bidding against someone that has received favorable responses from the seller to the above questions.

When a pregnancy has mentioned regarding embryos, it has alwasy been x number of emboryos with one gauranteed pregnancy. That means you buy x number of embryos and implant them, you are gtauranteed that one of those embryos with produce a viable pregnancy. If morethen one results you're money ahead.

Most of the ones i have saw sell the seller would put the embryo in the recip. cow and gauranteed safe in calf. Seller will keep recip till she calves you pick her up at that time and keep cow and calf until weaning. Seller gets recip. cow back. Some times you can take the recip at the time of purchase, sometimes seller will go ahead and raise the calf until weaning. For Limis the recip.cow dosen't have to be registered.

There are many different way producers sell.
You can buy the right to flush a donor cow to the bull of your choice. (you get frozen embyos)
You can buy a flush to specific bulls that you may have an option of Bull A or Bull B. (you get frozen embryos)
You can buy frozen embryos. Usually, they will sell 3 embryos & will guarantee 1 pregnancy if work is completely by an embryologist (you get 3 frozen eggs & you pay someone to implant into one or 3 of YOUR cows) (or sell 5 guaranteeing 2 pregnancies)
You can buy a PREGNANCY - either known sex or not. The embryo has already been put in a recipient cow and confirmed pregnant. They will give you a due date and everyone I've seen gives you info on the recip cow. Purchase price includes recip cow at sale site. You truck her home & calve her out.
