NY had 66 bulls on test. 25 Angus, 13 Red Angus, 13 Simmental, 11 Herefords, 2 Charolais, & 2 Shorthorns.
Only the top 40 make the sale. Top performing bull was a Red Angus. 2nd top was a Simmental (mine :D )
They are indexed by using the following formula:
30% on ADG index
30% on WPDA index
5% on Backfat index
5% on Intramuscular Fat
30% on Adj 365 day/ribeye area per 100# body wt.
The top 10 bulls were 6 Angus, 3 Simmental & 1 Red Angus.
Total qualifying, there were 18 Angus, 9 Simmental, 9 Red Angus, 3 Hereford, 1 Charolais, & 1 Shorthorn. (ended up with 41 because of a problem scanning).

Jeanne, are these test results online anywhere? I'd be interested in seeing the Angus sires being used successfully in NY. Thanks...
