With some of the aggressive Bull Talk I thought I would do a search in just a few seconds found all these bull attacks in just this year. And I did not follow all the links I found, some you had to join newspapers to read and I did not do this.

I went to the web site hoping to see a pictue of an 80 yr old Bull only to find it was a typo! :o
 
a good friend of mine was attacked by a Holestien bull last week. the bull had him down in the middle of a pasture for 30 min. Bruce had his cell phone and got ahold of his mom. they weren't sure which pasture he was in because he wasn't too coherent. had to shoot the bull to get to him. life flighted him to a local hospital. he ended up with 17 broken ribs, cuts on his face, hypothermia, and trouble hearing from one ear.
He is 41 and is a second generation dairyman.

Ok, lets look at the top 10 contributing facts on the Hereford. :D

1) The guy was in the way of a loading bull :shock:
2) The bull may have had horns which contributed to injury
3) The guy (rest his soul) was 80 years old, more brittle and was
pinned against a panel preventing escape.
4) Dosesn't sound like the bull deliberately attacked him, he was
just trying to get out of there.
5) The trampling could hardly be a deliberate act.
6) Who's to say it was just not a Hereford cross? You know
the red bull with a white face, with some simmi or brahman in
him. (beacuse a black bull is always an Angus..right?) :P
7) He probably changed to Herefords after his experience 15
years earlier :o
8) He had already identified the bull as a problem, but probably
kept him just because he did such a good job ;-)
9) Some people can't tell frisky play from a charge - not to say
that it won't get you just as hurt.
10) The bull obviously didn't "want to do the Watusi" :) :D

All in all - never turn your back and have complete confidence in any bull, especially in situations where they are around other cattle, or being worked.

That is more than a typo! That is a whole sentence structuring problem. And uhhhh uhhhh it was the websites mistake that I went to.....yea yea that's it,,,,the websites fault.....yea, not mine ;-)
 
All these Cowboys forget you can get hurt just as quick by one not meaning to from swinging a head at a fly or kicking at another cow,or the mut you brought to the cow pen.
Put cows in a pen or chute and the rules and risk factor have just changed. Always found it easier to work cows by myself wasn't having to worry about what the help was doing or the problem they were fixing to cause. Through the years I have only found two people that could really help working cows one is a neighbor as we never had to be watching each other .
 
My brother was attacked by a holstein bull one time, would have killed him but got his head under him and tossed him thirty feet thru the air and lost track of where he was. My son happened to be there and drug him around a silo where the bull couldn't find him. He had several broken bones but was lucky to servive.

Hasbeen, we can quite shopping for herefords now.
 
Had a couple of ribs busted by a Holstein bull when I was 15. I was young and stupid and thought nothing could hurt me but quickly found out that 140 vs 1800 isn't a fair fight.

You see a lot of elderly getting nailed but Randall wasn't close to that.

What kind of cattle did he run etc..
 
After being airlifted out of a corrall by a charolias bull I have developed a whole new kind of respect for them. One of the calmest bulls I had ever been around, but I believe those are the deadliest! I dont mean charolias, I mean gentle bulls.

You hear the saying all guns are loaded, sounds like we need to adapt that to Bulls, they are all loaded and able to Kill at any moment!
