I took 5 two year old Angus bulls along to a bull sale about 5 hrs drive north of here. First time I've sold at this venue. It is in tick country and there are a lot of Brahman and Brahman cross cattle and the graziers are buying Angus bulls to improve the carcase quality. My bulls were much admired but the general consensus was that they were a bit overdone to put straight out onto rough country with those cows. I was happy that I sold them all but only at the min upset price of $3000. Four of them went to the same buyer and they were very happy with their purchases, they had been buying early in the week at one of the bigger stud sales further south and only came to look and were very impressed with the boys and thought hey would just put in a starting bid and were very happy with their purchases and will use them over predominantly Santa cows. I am happy too as they are going to a good operation and we will stay in touch and get good feedback.
I know now what shape to have the bulls in if I go back next year and it certainly won't be as expensive in preparation.
Anyhow here they are feel free to say what you think.
