Every time I've ever had a bull with a ring in his nose, he's managed to catch it on something! Fence post, wire, creep feeder, etc. etc. We've gotten so we take them out when we're turning the bulls out to pasture. Just to prevent that kind of thing happening. It's not the damage to the bull, which is minimal because the ring is in the cartilage in the nose, but have you ever tried extracting a bull that has his ring on a T-post?
