Bulls are all out with the cows and so far looks like all of them are busy doing their job. Bulls went out with the purebreds on the 15th of June and the 20th we turned the others out with the commercial cows.

I find bulls to be much harder to get a decent picture of than the cows/calves. Not sure why, maybe I'm just fussier when it comes to them... Anyway I managed to get some pictures of a few of our bulls over the last few days.

81B. a home raised Black Angus 2 year old. Why do they always pose with the wrong back leg forward when I try to picture them??? He was rented out last year (same guy always rents a couple of bulls to use on his heifers). Haven't seen the calves he got from him personally but he seems pleased with them so that is good. Hopefully we will be as well. We sure have been happy with the calves we got from his sire.

another home raised 2 year old Black Angus. No relation at all to the one above. We are using this one on commercial cows. I'm undecided about this bull. His calves from last year look decent so far and the cows all calved no problems. But he seems to be a bit of a hard keeper compared to our other bulls. Then again maybe it's not fair to compare since he also has the biggest workload (roughly 40 cows, on 3 quarters of hills/bush - he walks a lot!). The biggest strike against him for me is we had 4 half sisters to him that calved this year and only 1 is milking good. 1 we had to supplement the calf once a day, until another cow lost her calf and we fostered it onto her. Now they share the calf. The other 2, their calves will get by this year without any help, but they better pick it up big time next year. We like to keep our own heifers, but we will be pretty selective keeping any from this bloodline. His dam is a really good cow though, so maybe her son will pass on her maternal traits rather than his sires.

There's a few other bulls that I didn't get any pictures of. I'm sure I will sometime over the summer though and I'll try to add them to this thread.
