Hi , I´m wonderin what do you all do as far as managing herd bulls when the breeding season is over. Down here we just move them to a separate pasture, we dont feed them anything but pasture and minerals.
We move our bulls to their own pasture at pre-wean time. For a while they do not get anything but grass and mineral. But when winter hits, they get fed the same ratio as the pregnant/calving cows do, just not every day. Our winters are hard and we have to feed them. Plus, when they hit the pastures with the cows in May, they are in great body condition and ready to work!
