Took my 4 year old angus bull to the vet today for BSE and Trich test...vet said not a lot of sperm and what he found was mostly all DOA. He's thinking all the days with temps over 100 is probably the cause. I don't plan to turn him out until cooler weather(Oct) so maybe I'll recheck in late September if weather is cooler then. Anybody had this happen to them?

Heat could definitly be the problem, with all the heat that TX has had this summer.
You could retest him in Oct. since I believe it takes about ninty days to regenerate sperm.
Only problem is that you are still hot and will be for a while yet. Would be nice if the
temperature could drop down for a few months so the bull would not be heat stressed
and you could get a good sample.

Don't ship him yet!
It's likely the heat.
Is he a Victor Domino bull?

Don't think there is a Victor Domino line in Angus cattle,
but can happen to any of them. :)

Thanks for the replies. He's not a victor domino bull. I plan on keeping him until mid-october, re-test, and turn him out or take to the sale barn.
