Broken Hoof

We have a cow that broke her right back hoof; the outside hoof, so that it points up at a 45* angle. I have chose to leave her in the pasture, because she has cut the foot; and the pasture is much cleaner than a lot where she can step into her own manure with her foot. I have given her Noromycin 300.
Has anyone ever had a cow with a broken hoof, and did it heal? How did you treat it?

I've had it happen with no long term problems.

jkwilson, how did you treat the hoof? Or did you just leave it alone?

Just left it alone in some cases. Other times I've chopped the broken part off with a hatchet and mallet so it doesn't keep snagging the ground on them.
