How come you don't see much "brimmer" influence west of Austin in cattle?

Been awhile since I have been out San Angelo way I remember a lot of Beefmaster type cattle . There used to be a lot of Hereford type as well again that was 15 years ago.

because pasture maggots took over. San Angelo is wool and mohair capitol of the world according to the signs downtown.
