I have a 2 year old cow that was ai. She was confirmed bred by ultrasound on May 13th she was 37 days. We let her out on memorial day she has been good so far. Yesterday i saw a few of them mounting some.... even the calves. This cow mounted bull a couple times and bull did the same but then nothing else happened the entire day. The bull was also mounting calves. Didnt last long. I watched closely the rest of the day and nothing happened. She had no discharge etc. bull just ignored her. Could she still be pregnant and just acting up with the hormones? She was be around 65 days bred now.

it only happened once since they were in a group. The bull is only 15 months old and hasnt bred anything yet. I think he didnt know what he wasnt doing for a minute.
"Yet" is the operative word. I guarantee you, a 15-month-old bull can and will breed anything from a 4-month-old heifer calf (depending on the breed and maturity) to an older cow. I buy yearlings for my heifers and they're all appx. 15 months old when I turn them out. And the aforementioned 4-month-old heifer that was bred by a 11-month-old bull? Got the t-shirt and it didn't end well.

That said, if you're concerned about whether your cow slipped her calf or if she just has raging hormones (totally normal), have her preg checked. You can do a blood test, ultrasound, or glove-up.

Yup im having her vet checked. She had just a little discharge tonight at 330pm. But like i said nothing else happened i was there all day and no interaction again. She woud be 65 days bred. There's only 2 bulls calves out there. No heifer calves. I have 2 yearlings that were checked before going outside and he's missed 2 cycles with them.

The odds of finding a fetus or even signs of an abortion are slim if it's early gestation. Later gestation is more obvious: she was bred 6/22 and aborted 11/21. Never found the fetus but typical "messy behind" after she lost the afterbirth.

If your cow did abort (and your vet will confirm) and your herd is vaccinated, one consideration is neospora. And sometimes it just happens. .trashed-1734816066-IMG_20241121_143920186.jpg
