HELLO, I HAVE THIS QUESTION ABUOT COLORS. WHAT YOU THINK WILL BE THE COLOR OR COLORS FOR THE CALVES FROM A BLACK BRANGUS COW TO BRAFORD BULL TANKS

YOu may get red white face( if the cows carries the red gene), black white face, solid black and solid red. YOu could get some brintle (cominf from the brahman blood).

But if they ae good black brangus cows and a nice dark red white face braford bull, you will most likely get the RWF, BWF and the solid.

Also depends on what color the braford bull is.

When our company first strarted using e-mail , I e-mailed my supervisor in all capital letters and his response was never do that again because usings all capitals is the same as yellings, and his yelling was oral , that has stuck with me eversense.

Jaime is from somewhere south of the border. I doubt that he knows all the rules.

Are you just curious as to the color or do you want to do that cross? Here for a better market value it would be better to cross with angus or charolois , like said above with braford you may get a variety of colors.

yes, i like to do this cross to keep replacements, then this replasements to an angus bull. i'm thinking on braford instead of brangus becouse i love baldies, i must have a little ear on my cows. tanks

Personal preferences play on that answer...I'm very partial to Hereford bull on Brangus cows for a super-baldie replacement heifer...I'ts what works in my climate...

yep... keeping more breeds out of the mix you dont want to mogrelize a good herd of brangus building uniformity in a herd is hard enough .. id stay brangus for replacement and use charolais for terminal,,, but now if you truly rather have baldies get you a good polled hereford bull you'll be glad you did

The Brangus cow gives you some flexibility in breeding. Brangus on Brangus for replacements, Hereford on Brangus cows for super baldies (good feeders and replacement heifers), Charolais or other continental on Brangus cows for a terminal cross. You could even put an Angus bull on Brangus cows (I personally would rather have one of the other crosses).

tank you all, please explain to me a little bit about if i cross the brangus cows to braford bull, the % of brahma in brangus or brafor is what i need. so if i do this cross will have some HF that i like and the % of brama that i need, then those repleasements to a charolais or angus bull for final. will be alot of diference between brangus and the resoult of thise cross for moms.tanks

if their purebred 3/8 5/8'S on both... you'r brahman percentage should stay the same '3/8' and the hereford/ angus,, will be 5/16 of each ''i think'' maybe

so you think the replacement heifers from a brangus cow to braford bull will be as god as the ones from a brangus cow to brangus bull, or whish ones will be best to breed theme to a char bul for final, tanks

Brangus on brangus is the best to maintain a herd. Crosses give you a good market for calves. I'd go for super baldies if I were you. That is a good sale for both the steers and heifers.

If you are a big enough operation, you can run a brangus bull plus a terminal bull. This will give you both. It also gives you market options.

Eared females are going to bring the most nickels for replacements when you sell them. You take a hit on the steers but it aint bad at all. Plus the steers are heavier so it almost makes it a wash or else slightly in your favor.

The sale barn could have different order buyers from one week to the next. You just never know.
