THis is a joke around here in the big WV but, was at a sale Friday night and picked up info on PA BQA program and out of state sellers can be part of their program somehow. Those calves were bringing 10-15 higher a lb. than the rest and I couldn't tell a difference, I think I'm gonna fill the stuff out and go to their thing and start letting 'em snoop around here and maybe I'll get a few more cents for my calves.

You might as well geton the bandwagon. It's not a big deal, but as I've said before, what you get a premium for today will be a dock in the future if you don;t do it. There very well may have been no real difference in the claves, but the ability to document them opens the door to the ability to export the beef.

I don't think they come to your place. At least around here they don't. It is a two part course. A classroom session and chute side session. I believe you get a notebook and a big fancy sign for you to put up at your place.
 
OOps, I blew it! Read BQA and thought QSA. These acronyms or SNAs as we jokingly referred to them in the NAVY frequently get my feeble brain confused.

we just had to sign a contract saying we would follow their protocol.

the regular graded feeder calf sale did better than the BQA sale.
