I saw an old farmer buddy of mine the other day and I asked him if he had any heifers for sale. He said he just put together a pen of 30 Angus heifer and steers that were between 7 and 8 cwt. He said he has a buyer for them at $2.00 a lb. He let me sort the pen and I picked 2 heifers (all I could afford). I paid $2940 for the pair, delivered. :shock:
 
Two dollars a pound for 7 &8 weights? I have put together 58 heifers that size and haven't paid over $1.50 a pound for any of them.
 
ive got a friend that sold 20 replacement heifers that weighed 600lbs or more to 2 buyers for $1.50lb for $900 to $1100ea.

I don't know who the buyer was that offered $2.00 lb, but I have bought from this guy for years and he is not pulling a fast one on me. IDK where these cattle are heading.
 
He ought to have some more pretty dang quick---at least 2 of those mommas were bred back when I went back & picked up those heifers----------maybe he hasn't kept up with the prices...........maybe..
