A woman whose husband was addicted to alcoholic enemas has been cleared of his manslaughter after administering one based on sherry.
Texan Michael Warner, 58, died of alcoholic poisoning with a level almost six times the state’s legal limit.
Court records showed the charge against Tammy Jean Warner, 45, was dismissed because of insufficient evidence.
She claimed her husband was addicted to enemas and often used alcohol in them to get drunk.

I guess it is quicker. When my son was a toddler they gave him his anesthesia rectally for hernia surgery. Worked in seconds. Lots of mucus membranes down there. Absorbs just like that. Looks like the alcohol would burn. :shock: :shock: :drink:

Believe it or not before there were electrolytes on the market my dad used a salt water enema to cure the scours and dehydration in calves.

Before my dad's cancer got the best of him, he couldn't/wouldn't swallow. He said everything was like trying to chew cardboard and tasted like it too. The only thing he said he could taste was chocolate! Anyway, his hospice nurse just gave him his meds rectally, said it worked faster and more efficiently.

Had a nurse get fired, as she well deserved, for administering oral medications rectally to a mentally handicapped client that was not med compliant. I had no idea what she'd done, but we saw poop all over the room. I could not believe my eyes. She should have been prosecuted.
