So i got a bottle calf from a rancher near by thats mother died...First thing gave two pills of colostrum and two in the evening..calf wouldnt suck the bottle at first but after working with her for about 30 minutes she sucked the whole bottle and that was Friday night..Saturday morining she wouldnt suck and i basically forced a pint down her and put some water in a bowl, oh and she was navel ill saturday morning so i gave her a shot of pen-48 and it seems to be going down.. Anyways she drunk the water i put in the bowl and sucked about a pint last night then i put the remainder of the milk in the bowl and she drunk it last night. This morning she had scours so she wouldnt suck electrolytes so poured them in the bowl so maybe she will drink them, then i gave her a scour pill...After all that my question is how can you treat navel ill and is it ok for her just to drink the milk....She will suck for about 5 seconds then stop like she cant breath spit it out and then start back and repeat then shes tired and just doesnt show any interest...So she isnt breathing when she sucks and then she just seems like she forgets how. so any tips will be appreciated..
