bottle calf and air in bottle question

we had a cow die a week after calving (earlier posts) well now I have another question.....the calf is taking to the bottle very well and I have the bottle hanging in a bottle cage with that said do I have to stand there and make sure the calf doesn't drink it all down and start sucking in a bunch of air? It would be great to go outside hang up the bottle and come back in 20 min and check on him.....thanks Chris.

^_^ the calf will stop all on his own. He may still try to get something out of it once its empty, but its not gonna hurt him in anyway. :)

Thanks that's what I thought but it seems given the chance cows/calves find a way to die.

I've done several like that. Go out before work and put them in paneled slots. Drop the bottles in the racks and go back in the house. Finish getting ready for work. Go back out and let the calves out, pick up the bottles. Take the bottles in the house and clean them. No problem.
