My cow first began drooling and her jaw looked swollen. I thought a snake had bit her, but the problem continued for months. I got her up to look for hardware in her mouth or bad tongue, teeth, but nothing was there. She has lost a large amount of weight. She does not have a calf on her, I took it off of her and I have her up and am feeding her. I have wormed her twice, the second time with an injectible. Any suggestions or ideas as to why she wont gain weight?

I had a cow with a swollen jaw which was dropping weight. The vet looked at her and said her jaw was broken. He gave her antibiotics and said to sell her as soon as her calf is weaned. The swelling has gone down and she has stopped dropping weight but she'll go to the sale when her calf goes in a couple more months.
